Travelogues
This is a short story about traveling Hawaii's Big Island.
I arrived to Hawaii without knowing a single person or any useful piece of information about the place. Starting in Hilo, a city frozen in time, I traveled the open road where impressions were made within seconds. I either hitched a ride, or I waited. I found a Garden of Eden, nestled away in the wastelands of dried lava flows. In the south, I met strangers who became friends. I ventured to the volcano, where the world begins and ends. I spun the wheel, and where it landed, I followed. Though the island is small in size, it is abundant with characters and adventures. |
